I found most maternity clothes too expensive for my pocket so I created my own maternity wear that I rocked pregnant and three months after the birth of my child. Easy clothing items with a relaxed look to tone down the use of corporate wear at work and a pair of good boots to stop me from wearing heels and encourage a sense of relief towards my final home stretch run.

A year ago I was not as experienced as I am now with various online sites that provide mom-to-be with awesome affordable maternity fashion, the delivery fee is sometimes more expensive than the actual order though. So apart from online stores that I know now for my next pregnancy I am not too phased about the decision I made to assist me with maternity style.

I enjoy wearing a good pair of jeans however the thought of purchasing a large size was not appealing to me. I found a pair of jeggings & leggings much more comfortable and useful.
I purchased a good pair of jeggings that I wore throughout the last stage of my pregnancy.
Teaming the jegging was so simple, I mostly wore a long sleeve solid color stretchable top, open button checked shirt with a vest, long shirts or a simple cardigan with a plain tee underneath.

Black leggings are another favourite of mine, I teamed my black leggings with a long sleeve shirt in solid warm Winter colours and used a cardigan to add a bit of style and warmth to my look, my final weeks / days at work I rocked this look as It assisted with a semi-formal appearance that I had to maintain while coming into the office although my boss is very accommodating and has been through pregnancy twice so she certainly understood my pain and discomfort to wear formal clothes everyday.

When it comes to shoes I do not mind spending a bit more as I have purchased cost effective shoes from various stores and more valuable shoes to find that I appreciate the comfort and style of branded shoes so I think it is simply best to invest in what keeps you happy to enjoy a smooth walk and comfort especially during pregnancy.
Choose shoes that are able to support tired legs and sore feet, I experienced a Winter
pregnancy so styling my looks with a pair of booties made it simple for me.
I invested in a pair of flat formal Little Miss Black boots and a pair of UGGS.

Oh I did enjoy wearing my gym clothes as you already know gym wear is stretchable and super comfy on the body. My Nike trainers were accommodating on my sore feet, So make sure to stock up on some sports leggings, comfy tees, breathable socks and a good pair of trainers for your gym sessions. Perhaps I complained a little too much about attending gym as I felt exhausted most days to a point were I would take naps in my car during lunch breaks at work. I will not do that again as the after effects were painful, my back was sore for weeks due to sleeping in an uncomfortable spot.

Simple accessories like a soft scarf or a pair of sunnies and a fancy watch was all I used to add a feminine touch to my maternity look on a daily basis. Swapping different shirts with my leggings was creative and simple, I did not have to spend a fortune to look decent during my pregnancy. In my home on most weekends I would simply stay in my sleep wear as it was comfortable and easy.

This is my experience I am sharing with you, today we live in a society that is so influenced by magazine pictures and online mama models that we forget about the manipulation of the image. I was so taken by mama models online styling gorgeous maternity outfits that I could not afford at all until I prayed about my pregnancy and did some hunting in China Mall and MRP for pieces of clothing one size up of my normal fit or one size fits all.
I also searched various ways to style leggings and jeggings which is one of the reasons I still very much wear them today long after the birth of my son.
More about that soon :)
I do hope you enjoyed the details on my bump style.
